This was introduced with SP1, and unfortunately causes problems with some games, as well

as cortex.  You can turn it off by preforming the following steps:




1) RDP into the server


2) Right click My Computer, select Properties


3) Click the Advanced tab


4) Click the Settings button


5) Click the Data Execution Prevention tab


6) Click the radio button for the option “Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only”


7) Click OK


8) Click OK


9) Reboot when prompted
