How do I migrate from Mailenable to SmarterMail2?

1) Install Smartermail and disable all of the services

2) Ensure that the SOAP and XML services are installed as depicted on the Helm Control Panel system requirements page.

3) Using a database editing tool such as Enterprise manager, load up the Helm database and navigate to the “Interfaces” table.

4) Note down the InterfaceId for MailEnable, and SmarterMail 2

5) Load up the “Service” table and look for the current MailEnable service being used.

6) Change the InterfaceId for that service row from the MailEnable
InterfaceId to the SmarterMail InterfaceId that you noted down earlier.

7) Go to the System Settings>Servers>[Mail Server] and then
select the old mail service which should now be of type “MAIL:
Smartermail 2”

8 ) Edit the properties of this service and ensure that everyting is completely correct and filled in then click Save when done

9) Load up the HelmRepairTool from the C:\program files\webhost
automation\helm\tools folder and select the mail service that has now
been switched over the smartermail, and click the repair button. (If
there are any problems it is highly likely you have not configured the
service details correctly or SmarterMail, and you will be able to
gather more information from the Helm logs.

10) Check in smartermail that all the domains now appear which they should do, along with the mail accounts, aliases etc.

11) Run the SmarterTools MailEnable to Smartermail conversion utility
and allow it to migrate the domains. The reason for this is purely so
that the old emails will get moved over from mailenable to smartermail
so you won’t loose data.

12) Disable all of the mail enable services and enable all of the Smartermail services.

You should now been fully migrated over to smartermail.
